Heineken beer ("Heineken"): review, manufacturer, reviews
Many people like to spend time in a cheerful and warm company, complementing your leisure time with your favorite drinks. Most often, such an addition is beer. Connoisseurs of foamy drink know that Heineken beer is the perfect option to feel the fullness of soft and rich taste.
For Heineken beer, 1863 was the year of birth. The idea of beer production originated under very ordinary circumstances: the mother of a young man named Gerard Adrien Heineken scolded her own servant who got drunk and could not fulfill her duties.
The young man thought that if the servant had not drunk poor quality local alcohol, this incident most likely would not have happened. By the way, the alcohol that most people consumed at that time was ale, a genie for local spill and beer produced by the top fermentation method.
The idea is so fascinated by Gerard that he asks for help from his mother in the implementation of this innovation.In 1864, the Heineken family acquired the De Hooiberg brewery in Amsterdam. For a twenty-two-year-old young man a new field is unfamiliar, and therefore he sets off for knowledge and best practices in Bavaria.
New technologies in Dutch brewing
From there, Gerard brings a new technology for the production of beer - a method of bottom fermentation. Already in 1869, the technology was introduced and obtained the first results. The difference in the application of technology is obvious: the product is light and transparent. The first name that got a new drink: "Gentleman's Beer".
Renewed beer quickly won the recognition of citizens and became too popular. The capacity of the brewery is no longer enough to cover all requests. Therefore, Heineken opens a new Buitensingel brewery.
Soon the family will have a private chemical laboratory, with its help it becomes much easier to control the quality of the product. In 1873, to improve the taste of beer, Adrien ordered the development of a yeast strain for a new brand of beer from a famous student of Louis Pasteur, Elion. The work took a microbiologist for 13 years, and as a result, a special strain of type A yeast was developed, which became a fundamental component of Heineken beer.The use of such yeast gives the beer a distinctive taste and is the highlight of the drink.
Among other things, the practical Gerard stopped buying ice and instead bought refrigerators for his breweries. It saved time and money. Subsequently, the plants will appear and lamps that will replace sunlight. Now the production will not depend on the time of year.
The founder of the plant assembled all the advanced technologies at his enterprises, trying to stay on top among the competitors. This largely affected the performance of the company and the quality of beer.
In addition to his own efforts, which Gerard made to get the perfect beer, he was helped by political events in the world. As a result of the war in 1870, the importation of foreign goods was banned. This was a great success for the Heineken brewery, because it lost its competitors. Goods turnover grew, and new capacities were required for the manufacture of a foamy drink. Three years later, production is expanding by joining a plant like De Hooiberg, and a year later a new plant built in Rotterdam.
After the death of Gerard Adrien Heineken in 1893, his family was left with a huge brewery that produced 20,000,000 liters of drink per year. It became a family business, and therefore Henry Heineken had to continue the brewers' dynasty.
By 1900, technology had changed significantly, and many competitors appeared on the market, so in order to preserve its name and place among consumers, Heineken beer needed to be modified and distributed not only among wealthy citizens, but also among the masses. This led to a decrease in the price of goods and the production of new cheaper varieties.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, events occurred in the world that undermined the economy in many countries, so there was a difficult period at the Heineken plants. Low demand has reduced production volumes. However, this was not a reason for the closure of breweries, but on the contrary, it was a fact of some help: in this difficult period, the plant offered people jobs with a stable wage.
Following a lull in the history of the Heineken beer brand distribution, a wave of conquest of new countries began. We list some of them. United States, Japan, Australia, Canada,almost all of Asia is among Heineken beer consumers. Brand geography spreads quickly and confidently.
Third generation beer
After Henry turned over the business to his son Alfred Heineken, the brand became a third-generation beer. This period was characterized by the development of marketing developments. After all, too-developed beer industry in the world requires high-quality advertising to attract its customers.
Alfred Heineken, head of Heineken’s Bierbrouwerij Maatschappij N.V., through a tough marketing campaign, has led his own brand to the top three brewers in the world. Thanks to him, everyone now recognizes a bottle of beer in tare in a green label with a red star.
To make the company quickly recognizable and easy to remember, Alfred changed its name. Heineken’s Bierbrouwerij Maatschappij N.V is now just Heineken N.V. The European countries of Greece, Italy, Sweden, Spain, as well as Tahiti, Ireland, Morocco, South Korea, and Haiti met Heineken beer under this name. Popularity grew.
Heineken Beer Awards
This beer has won recognition not only ordinary people, but also representatives of high society. Heineken beer received the following awards:
- gold medal at the International Exhibition in Paris 1875;
- Grand Prix in Amsterdam 1893;
- gold medal at the International Exhibition in Paris 1889;
- Gold Medal at the International Exhibition in Paris, 1900
At the moment, the production of Heineken takes the second place in the world of brewing after the famous Anheuser-Busch.
Modern look at Heineken beer
The manufacturer tried to make the premium beer brand recognizable by its appearance, so the green label and the red star have remained the hallmark of the brand since ancient times.
The taste of beer is soft and saturated at the same time, with a specific flavor of fermentation products. When drinking beer in a chilled state, the quality is enhanced.
Among the fans of this brand there are those who are contraindicated for the use of alcohol, despite its low content in the drink - 5%. For this segment of the population, the manufacturer has developed a sort of “Heineken non-alcoholic beer” with an alcohol content of 0.0%. This allowed the brand to conquer a wider society.
The most popular brand of beer in the consumer market is most often found in the following forms of release:
- 0.33 L glass bottle;
- 0.5 l glass bottle;
- 0.65 l glass bottle;
- 0.5 l can;
- 5 l barrel;
- keg with a volume of 20 l (keg type - Euro);
- keg of 30 l.
Among the proposed options, Heineken beer in a keg is considered to be the most popular, since it is stored in tin containers and is perfect for the company. Such packaging takes up relatively little space.
However, there are also admirers of glass containers in which Heineken beer is produced.
Reviews connoisseurs foamy drinks
Almost all consumers of this brand speak of Heineken beer as a “cool, tasty, excellent” drink. Gourmets taste it called "sparkling, with a unique bouquet and a slightly bitter aftertaste." The aroma is recognized as fresh and juicy.
The units may not agree with these statements, however, for fans of original tastes, the manufacturer presented the following varieties on the market: AMSTEL PREMIUM PILSENER (with fruit flavors and resistant foam), “Golden Bazant” (with lemon flavor), Desperados (with tequila couscous), "Stepan Razin March", "Edelweiss Dunkel" and others.
Heineken is focused on changing demand, and therefore it develops by opening its breweries around the world and making a variety of beers.
